| Book Sheds New Light on Baboon Social Scene
He wrote it on August 16, 1838, almost two years after returning from his voyage on the Beagle and 21 years before the publication of The Origin of Species. It was a time of vigorous intellectual activity, when Darwin read voraciously on many subjects, both within and beyond the sciences, and met and talked with many different people, from family friends to prominent literary and political figures. Despite this active intellectual life, however, it seems unlikely that he or anyone else had ever combined the words "baboon" and "metaphysics" in the same sentence. What was Darwin thinking? Mind and behavior in Darwin's time The Cambridge English Dictionary defines metaphysics as "the part of philosophy that is about understanding existence and knowledge." Writing in the Westminster Review in 1840, John Stuart Mill offered a summary of views on the origin of knowledge that were being discussed by Darwin and his contemporaries.
City staff suggests denying or tabling Wal-Mart
City staff members say they don't know enough to recommend approval for a Southside Wal-Mart and suggest that the planning commission today either deny or table its recommendation on the retailer's zoning request. The location of the Supercenter has been opposed by neighbors who worry about increasing traffic and decreasing property values in the area now zoned for residential housing. The planning commission recommended with a 5-3 vote a previous rezoning request in March, but the issue never reached the City Council because Wal-Mart withdrew its request. Members of the commission contacted Tuesday said they were waiting for tonight's presentation to decide their votes. Two did mention concerns about a traffic study, one saying more data is needed from Wal-Mart, the other saying the city should prepare that information.

Obivously this guy worked at other places before this place. Maybe I'm missing it, but I haven't seen where anyone is demanding these other facilities to answer how they did not know he was doing this. He admitted to years of this behavior. Why is this facility the only one being attacked? He even worked at OVH - a STATE facility! Everyone needs to stop the witch hunt, focus on the fact that he has FINALLY been stopped, and help the victims / families get closure. You don't need to look far to find the guilty...he's in jail. Kickapoo, Glendale mourning students
The two principals said that they had not contacted students' families yet and wanted to respect their time to grieve. Specific school memorials hadn't been planned as of Sunday night, though Prouty said he'd spoken to the student council president about giving the students an opportunity to write their thoughts on a roll of paper. "It is certainly a lesson to all of us that the lives we have are fragile," Schmitz said. .
