However, it appeared to go to him off a defender not one of his own team-mates. 1631: Goal at Reading and the deadlock is broken. James Harper's free-kick is headed by Ibrahima Sonko. Gordon makes the save but Ivar Ingimarsson sticks in the rebound. 1630: In League One, Forest now lead 2-0 against Port Vale after Lewis McGugan's goal. And at Stoke the game's up for West Brom - Ricardo Fuller has made it a hat-trick and 3-0. 1629: Goal at Fulham and it's gone to Wigan. Marcus Bent lashes it in from close range to make it 1-0. Great stuff after his hat-trick last week. 1628: Torres looks to have wrapped up the points for Liverpool against Pompey. He's made it 3-1. Ryan Babel went through and James came out to meet him.
Iran won't back down on nuclear crisis
The West fears that Iran is using its nuclear drive to try to build atomic weapons, a charge Tehran has consistently denied, saying it is aimed at generating electricity. Uranium enrichment is a process which makes nuclear fuel but can also be diverted to produce the fissile core of atomic bombs. The Security Council on Monday held informal discussions on a third sanctions resolution, agreed by five veto-wielding permanent members - Britain, China, France, Russia and the United States - plus Germany. The proposed new measures include an outright travel ban by officials involved in Tehran's nuclear and missile programs and inspections of shipments to and from Iran if there are suspicions of prohibited goods. Rewind 24 hours and Kevin Keegan was morphed into a man who dropped a tenner and found a penny after watching his Newcastle side capitulate in the second half, to fall to a 4-1 defeat at Aston Villa. Michael Owen made light of being dumped by Fabio Capello to head Newcastle into a first half lead but after the interval Newcastle defended as only Keegan sides can. John Carew played bully-boy to perfection in muscling his way to a hat-trick, while the fact Wilfred Bouma helped himself to a goal at the 76th time of asking is testimony to the paucity of Newcastle's defensive resolve. Villa's win moves them to within three points of fourth placed Everton, who cling onto the final UEFA Champions League spot after grinding out a 1-0 win over a free-falling Reading.
Don't skimp on cooking wine for beef dish
One of our favorite recipes for a winter meal is boeuf bourguignon, that French stew of beef and onions cooked in red wine. The original recipe calls for Burgundy (pinot noir) but you can use any dry red wine. Don't skimp on the cooking wine too much, for a cheap wine can affect the quality of the dish. An $8 to $10 bottle of red will do. Most folks recommend that you drink the same varietal you put in the stew, and we do, too. For our tasting, we used a red blend in our boeuf bourguignon so that we evaluated different varietals with it. .
LIKE IT IS : Petrino unveils star-studded class — on paper
To put it as honestly as possible, evaluating recruiting is an inexact science and basically just something for fans to talk about. For weeks now we have been pelted with talk of four stars, three stars, in-home visits, phone calls, last-second visits to campus and a final push to change someone's mind. Not just in Arkansas, but all across the country. But all things considered, it looks like Bobby Petrino's first recruiting class is very strong, better than expected when he arrived on campus. Especially when you realize he was made public enemy No. 1 by ESPN, the most influential athletic voice in the country. You would have thought Petrino had lied under oath to a senate committee, or had somehow managed to insult ESPN. For about three days after he resigned from the Atlanta Falcons, ESPN's commentators attacked Petrino — relentlessly.
